Tour Description

We will begin our visit to the Basilica of Aquileia, a masterpiece of early Christian art, famous for its mosaics that tell stories of faith and daily life. With your expert guide, you will understand the deep meaning of this place, where the city became one of the main Christian centers of the Roman Empire.

The tour continues with a walk through the ruins of the Roman Forum, the Theater and the city walls, which tell of Aquileia's grandeur in antiquity, but also of its important function as a spiritual center. Along the Via Sacra, we will let you relive the atmosphere of a city that was a crossroads of cultures, religions and trade.

A central focus of the tour will be a visit to the necropolis and funerary monuments, which offer food for thought on life and the afterlife, themes that are deeply intertwined with the Christianity that took hold here in the early centuries.

Finally, we will conclude our trip at the Early Christian Church Museum, where you will have the opportunity to discover how Aquileia became one of the most significant places for the spread of the Christian faith in Europe. A private tour designed to introduce you not only to the archaeological history, but also to the rich spiritual legacy of Aquileia, through the eyes of a Catholic guide who will help you grasp the connections between the greatness of the past and the faith that still animates this extraordinary place today.
