Tour Description

We will begin our journey at the Colosseum, the ancient amphitheater symbol of Rome, a place that has witnessed scenes of great suffering, but also of immense hope. Here, many Christians faced Roman persecution with extraordinary courage and unwavering faith, finding in death a passage to eternal life. As we explore the amphitheater, your Catholic guide will recount the testimonies of the early martyrs and share with you stories of sacrifice and redemption, illuminating the deep Christian significance of this monument.

We will continue to the Mamertine Prison, a silent and solemn place that holds the traces of Saints Peter and Paul, the two pillars of the Church, imprisoned here before their martyrdom. In the darkness of these ancient cells, enveloped in an atmosphere of deep reverence, we will retrace the last hours of the two apostles, their thoughts and prayers. The guide will help us enter the mystery of the faith that gave them the strength to persevere to the end. Together, we will pray for all who still suffer today because of faith.

Finally, we will enter the Roman Forum, the center of the political and religious life of the Empire. Every nook and cranny of this site has seen important figures in Christian history pass by , including St. Lawrence and St. Agnes, who carried out their martyrdom here. As we walk among the ruins and ancient temples, our Catholic guide will share with us meditations and reflections on the meaning of martyrdom, showing how their example still shines today as a beacon of hope and love.
